Care Packages and Support for Families & Those Caring for Children in ICUs

It is a difficult journey for families with children in the hospital. It can also be a trying time for one’s faith in the midst of uncertainty, suffering, and dealing with all this not in your home but in a hospital room.

Our hope is to meet families in these moments through a care package that can bring them joy, hope, and concrete items that can encourage them to use this time to strengthen not loose, one’s faith. 

How Los
Momenticos Began

Since early 2018 we have spent time at Nicklaus’ ICU with two of our children, Asis Gabriel, and John-Paul. Asis Gabriel passed at six weeks old, and John-Paul at two and half years. The Children’s hospital is a beautiful place, but it can also be a very trying one, especially to one’s faith journey. In honor of making it to a 1st birthday for John-Paul,, we were inspired to stay connected to the place that served him so well, by offering some comfort, courage and items to strengthen the faith of any fellow Catholic families in the hospital. 

After John-Paul passed away while in the hospital in 2024, we felt called to continue this project in his honor to give strength and hope to families facing difficult trials. We also expanded the mission to include opportunities to provide human comforts as a gesture of thanks to the amazing staff in ICU units.

Our Services

  • Create care packages for ICU units that encourages spiritual growth and offer accompaniment to families

  • Special packages for Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas 

  • Help with immediate financial & human needs of families who are burdened by having children who are hospitalized, are special needs, or succumb to a short life

  • Show appreciation to health-care workers in children’s ICU units by providing human comforts
